Kimberly Miller

Today we want to introduce you to one of our fantastic bloggers, who is making her way up the journalistic ladder (skipping about 3 rungs each step!), and keeping us all informed on how to stay fit, fine and weird in NYC!

Say hello to Kim Miller!

Kimberly Rae MillerThe Basics:
Kim is in her mid-twenties, a lifelong New Yorker except for brief stints living in Boston, the Netherlands and Los Angeles. She went to college in Boston at Emerson College where she double majored in Theatre and Marketing. A super anal-retentive student, ended up graduating early at 20 before she could even legally celebrate with a drink. During her short time in LA, she realized she liked eating way too much to ever live there permanently, so she moved back to NYC.

She currently lives in Brooklyn with no current plans to expand her borough horizons.

Hooters!

She loves Hooters (the restaurant!) and takes pictures of them all over the country, even her friends are in on the act and whenever they travel they send her back pictures of them at Hooters. This usually baffles and excites most of the men she dates.

The Daily SpecialWhere You At, Kim?

Besides blogging for 92.3 NOW, Kim writes regularly for the fitness based website, Social Workout. In fact, most of the time she’s a health and fitness writer/talking-head. Kim spent two years working for Conde Nast hosting their online comedic talk show, The Daily Special, and the online episodic Pretty Imperfect for their website, Elastic Waist. Kim also wrote for them daily about life, body image, health and wellness.

Kim’s writing has also been seen on Shine, where you can read a dynamite interview with her, and in various magazines.

Kim is currently working on two books, one a “How To” of extreme secrecy, and another a collection of funny essays.

Also, Kim is featured as an expert in digital careers (focusing on blogging and web shows) in the book, The Creative Girls Guide to Having it All, by Katharine Sise – which due out this Fall.

She also writes two personal blogs, besides her freelance writing work: The Kim Challenge, which is about heath, what she eats and general life pontification; and Forkful of News, where Kim collaborates with food writers all over the country, every week, to talk food.

On the Screen:

First and foremost, before writing, Kim is a performer. She’s got a great part as the crazy gothic ex-girlfriend of the male lead in the feature film Colin Hearts Kay, which should be coming out later this year. Kim has also worked regularly on off-Broadway performances, and sadly a ton of off-off broadway. She’s also been around for years as an improv and sketch comedian all over NYC .

Kim’s television appearances include:

WE Network’s Cinematherapy, Judging Amy, and LA Dragnet.
