T.I. Just Can't Get a Break

Recently released weapons offender / rapper T.I. is facing a copyright infringement lawsuit over his GRAMMY-Award winning track “What You Know” off of his 2006 album, King.
Apparently, a “rapper” who calls himself Motoe Blizzid (real name Nathan Filby) alleges that T.I. used parts of his 2004 song “Reverence” in the music for “What You Know”.
According to legal documents, Filby claims the song has the “same rate of harmonic range” and states the two recordings have “nearly identical instrumental melodic lines in terms of pitch, shape, and rhythm.” Filby is requesting a jury trial for the case and is seeking damages and profits derived from the song.
T.I. is currently in a halfway house near his home in Atlanta, Georgia after serving time for weapons possession.

What do YOU think?
Do the songs sound similar to you? What do you think a jury of their peers would say? Of course, those peers wouldn’t be record producers and beat makers though.
