I will be the first to admit that sometimes the gym can be a wee bit competitive, but usually people get through rush hour with their lives and quadriceps intact.
Douglas Smith, a 50-year-old social worker, was working out at Church Avenue Fitness in Flatbush, Brooklyn, when he got into an altercation with 19-year-old, Shawn Hing (not pictured above). Hing wanted the Elliptical machine Smith was working out on, Smith refused to relinquish the cardio machine.
Hing left, then came back with another gym member, armed with a hammer and a knife. The two stabbed Smith with the knife three times, and bashed in his head with the hammer.
Can you say ‘roid rage?
Hing was arrested on Sunday, the other assailant is still unknown.
