Cash Money Stands By Weezy

It has been almost a week since the hip hop world was shocked after learning that Lil Wayne will be serving up to 10 months in a New York prison. In the past we have seen rappers such as T.I., who is currently serving time, face the realities of fellow label mates deserting them, or essentially writing them off for dead.
This, however, is not the case for Wayne who is getting the ultimate support from Cash Money owners Ronald “Slim” Williams and Brian “Baby” Williams. The Williams brothers have known Wayne for 15 years, after signing him as a teenager, and consider him to be family as opposed to just being another act on the roster.
Cash Money officially released this statement on the matter saying, “The Cash Money family will continue to support our artist and friend Lil Wayne in his current court case. We have worked with Wayne since he was a teenager, and have seen him grow into one of the world’s most successful hip-hop artists, with a work ethic that is second to none. Wayne has our love and commitment during this difficult time. We always have and always will stand behind him.”
Wayne is due to receive sentencing in February 2010 but with all that support from his label and fans the rapper won’t be going in alone spiritually. Who says rappers don’t have feelings?
