Jason Derulo Video Premiere
The wait is finally over for loyal fans of Jason Derulo, as the much anticipated video for his hit single “Whatcha Say” has premiered online today. The song has been a constant buzz on 92.3 NOW and has gained a hell of a lot of attention from many in the music industry because of his use of Imogen Heap’s “Hide and Seek” sample.
The young singer in the video mirrors all of the problems detailed in the song, struggling with the fact that he cheated on his girlfriend and is desperately trying to win her back. The video is simple enough and not too far from what many expected – a far cry from the “creative” representation Kanye West gave to Drake’s hit single “Best I Ever Had”.
The video was straight on as director Bernard Gourley kept it simple and did not get caught up in crazy special effects, confusing concepts or something that would deserve an X rating and put parents on the edge of their seats. This single and video may be the beginning of breakout success for Derulo.
