Whacktastic Wedding at Walmart
There is a lot of sentimentality that naturally comes along with weddings. Usually it’s sweet, sometimes it’s awkward, and well sometimes it’s just downright weird. Not that I’m judging, but I am.
Crystal Newsome and Robert Vickrey, both long time Walmart employees, married one another last week in the lawn and garden department of a Nebraska Walmart Supercenter. Walmart is where the couple met, where they had their first kiss (I wonder how their boss feels about them knoodling on the job), and now it’s where they vowed their eternal love and devotion to one another.
Oh, and TastyKakes are on sale…
The groom, Robert, is the father of three and grandfather of four. Crystal, the bride, has four children of her own. She was even walked down the aisle by her oldest son, 6-year-old Keagan. It’s kind of cute, if not a bit creepy.
The couple were apparently heckled by colleagues – who learned about the wedding from the announcement inviting them to attend which was posted over the time-clock – not because of the choice of venue, but for having to come in to work on their days off.
Best of luck to the couple, and kudos for not getting saddled with $50k of party debt. Note to co-workers, if and when I tie the knot, I will not be coming into the 92.3 NOW offices to do it.
